How to Get a Price on a New Post Frame Building
When it comes time to get a price for a new post frame building, commit yourself to think through the details. You want your building company to understand as much information as possible. That way, the building contractor will be able to give you the actual price and not just an estimate.
Sapphire Construction, Inc.
In Central Colorado, Sapphire Construction, Inc. represents Lester Buildings, one of the nation’s premier companies dealing with post-frame construction. Our outstanding portfolio touches on aspects of low-rise buildings.
Keep the next step in mind. Our professional staff will move your napkin-sketched ideas along the design phases and guide you along. Soon, you’ll be able to see 3D computer images along with the ability to make changes.
Preliminary Pricing Factors
Our designers will move your ideas along. The preliminary electronic plans include basic information that you submit. As the plan becomes complete, Sapphire Construction will prepare to submit it to our larger group of engineers, researchers, designers and manufacturers.
Each element changes the costs. You will be able to adjust your decisions as the costs get hashed out. We want the entire scope to fit into your project budget.
Decisions and information
At Sapphire Construction, the building contractor needs to know about your building. Begin by figuring out this basic information and we’ll add our design and pricing expertise to the project.
- What size and dimensions would the building be?
- Where is the building site?
- How will the building be used?
- What specific features and accessories do you want?
- What is your timeline for getting started?
A. Size and Dimensions
Sketch out the areas and measurements required for the activities and purpose of the building. A pole building can accommodate one or two floors, lofts, mezzanines period. Estimate the width, length, and height of your building.
B. Building Site
Do you have ownership of a building site? What zip code is the building site located in?
C. Building Purpose
Although your building may have multiple uses, determine the primary purposes for constructing it. Does it fit into any of these categories? Garage and Hobby; Farm/Storage/Shop; Residential/House/Cabin; Equestrian; Commercial; Dairy; Beef; Hog; Repair; Warranty; or something else?
D. Accessories and Features
Do your best to explain your vision for your new pool building. Is it a simple large expanse or is it a house? How will the exterior look, including the entrance? Will you add lean-tos, porches, loading and unloading ramps, overhead doors, or walk doors. How many?
Think about natural lighting, windows, and flooring. What specific textures and materials do you envision? Do you want vaulted ceilings or a loft or mezzanine? What rooms do you need? Offices, restrooms, kitchen?
Importantly, will the building’s purposes warrant plumbing and electric access? What type of landscape will fit into the design?
E. Timelines
Do you need your building sooner or is there no hurry? The construction industry can get backed up depending on demand and timing may affect the cost.
