Custom Hobby Buildings for Car Collections
Occasionally, we read about large car collections being sold. Today, a Dutch auction house will begin an online auction of 230 rare classic cars. They include millions of dollars of European and American cars. We gleaned this information from Epoch Times, May 12, 2023. You can visit their website to see the amazing photos.
Where were the cars stored? Ad Palmen filled a church and to “dried but dusty” warehouses. He’s now 82 but previously operated car dealerships. The Home and Barn find Collection is being auctioned by Classic Car Auctions and Gallery Aaldering on May 19, 2023.
Hobby Barns Customized for Car Collections
Now, if you are thinking of upping the storage facilities for your auto collection, think beyond “dried but dusty.” Our automotive pole buildings will put you closer to your collection. You could work on the cars and keep them up. And if you want cars up on a mezzanine or second floor, a car elevator could help you maximize your space. You see, pole barns these days can be upgraded to include insulation and heating. No worries about dust because these custom outbuildings can be airtight and energy-efficient, too. Keep it plain and practical or go for fancy accessories. Like equestrians, car buffs at times turn their hobby into a social activity by adding meeting, game, and other rooms.
Cars for Sale at Auction
If you check out the auction, you’ll find the collection contains a long list of Palmen’s favorite brands. Over four decades, he gathered an eclectic variety of rare and special cars, according to an article published in The Epoch Times. Here’s a sampling of the brands being offered:
Italian: Alpha Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, Ferrari
French: Facebook Vega
German: BMW, Mercedes, NSU
British: Jaguar, Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce
American: Chevrolet, Cadillac, Ford
Among a bunch more, the photos include a red Jaguar E-type S 14.2 Convertible 1966, a red Maserati 3500 GT 1958, and a gold Facel Vega FVS 1957. The auctioneers expect a 1950s sports car to bring in more than €675,000!
These cars remain in their original, unrestored condition. They remained as hidden gems through the decades. The highlight, a Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider America 1955, boasts a V-6 engine and excellent agility. Move fast if you want in on this amazing find.
