New Garage Patterned to Complement the Entire Property
The widespread use of drones helps us to select good placement and design for a new garage. Maybe drone photography can help to pull nature into our architectural elements. British-American architect and design theorist Christopher Allen emphasized the need for ancient building form, ancient as our trees and hills. The object is “to make great buildings…beautiful places, places where you feel yourself, places where you feel alive.”
A New Garage Designed into a Larger Property
We invite you to enjoy a new garage built in Parker, Colorado. A recent project by Sapphire Construction, Inc., the garage blends beautifully with other aspects of the property. And, in another way, it serves as an anchor. It’s a garage. But the colors, the added porch, and the positioning come together harmoniously. The owners can be proud, but also know they have a space to be creative and spread their wings.
Alexander’s Works
Professor Alexander’s many books describe innovative theories. You would think that the idea of bringing the outside in and the inside out – giving nature a seat at the table – would not be new. But he came along after the urbanized Mid-Century trends of the 1960s era. They are back again in 2024, too.
Alexander preferred organic growth to urban master planning. Alexander sang the praises of patterns, although his philosophy embraced incremental, organic design. He talked to the idea of wholeness in “The Nature of Order.”
Post Frame Building Adaptations
If we analyze the post frame garage in Parker, Colorado, we can note several patterns. For example, look at the colors. The main color of the building and the lighter sandy color on the ground respond to each other. Also, the darker brown trim and the door to the garage pole and those forested tree trunks. The spunky outdoor porch adds a useful accent, without taking over. It is wood elements echo the stand of trees. It orders itself with nature.
