   Wood. The wood is double pressed, first by 100 tons of force and then a roller press. If you’re curious, we use MSR southern yellow pine or Douglas fir lumber evaluated by mechanical stress-rating equipment and grades. A third-party inspection agency conducts random checks for quality control.
   Steel. Instead of the commonly used 29-gauge steel, Lester uses 28-gauge panels which are roll-formed in house. We also test all of the steel layers.
   Fasteners and connections. Details are important. Lester Buildings installs a metal saddle hanger over the top of the trusses and nests the purlins in the hangers. Eight fasteners are used to connect at each truss to purlin. It sure beats the common method of 2×4 roof purlins on the edge nailed with one ring shank mail atop the roof truss.
